Projects and Old Classics: Honest Advice First
Not every old car belongs in a scrap yard. Some models from the 1950s through the 1980s, especially certain muscle cars, trucks and rare trims, are worth far more to a restorer or collector than to us. Before you sell an older project, consider:
- Is it a model collectors look for? Search recent sales of the same year and model.
- Is it complete? Original engine, matching numbers and original trim add a lot of value for collectors.
- Is the body solid? Rust-free floors and frames matter more than paint.
- Do you have the time to sell it? Collector sales can take months.
Tell us what you have. If it's likely worth more to a collector, we'll say so. If it's a parts car or too far gone, we'll make you a fair offer and take it away.
