The phone quote is $450. On arrival, the driver says, "That's minus $100 for the tow."

No Hook-Up or Hidden Fees
Call [PHONE]Every car we buy is towed away free. That includes cars that don't run, cars with no keys, cars on flat tires and cars stuck in snowbanks or parkades.
There's no hook-up fee, no fuel surcharge and no "disposal" charge, and the tow is never quietly subtracted from your offer.
One note: this is free towing for vehicles we're buying. We're not a roadside assistance service. If you need a boost or a tow to your mechanic, call your roadside plan. If you want to sell the car, call us at [PHONE].

There are three main ways to tow a car, and they're not equal for junk vehicles.
| Tow type | How it works | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Flatbed (rollback) | The deck tilts down and the car is winched fully onto it | Non-running, damaged, AWD/4x4 and keyless vehicles. Our standard. |
| Wheel-lift | Lifts one end of the car by the wheels; the other end rolls | Short tows of running cars with free-turning wheels |
| Hook-and-chain | Chains hooked to the frame or axle | Rarely used now; can damage vehicles |
A flatbed doesn't need the car's wheels to turn or the transmission to be in neutral. It's also the safe way to move all-wheel-drive and 4x4 vehicles, which can be damaged if towed with two wheels on the road.
Almost every buyer advertises free towing. Here's how some of them take it back:
The phone quote is $450. On arrival, the driver says, "That's minus $100 for the tow."
A hook-up fee, fuel surcharge, environmental fee or disposal fee appears on the receipt.
The tow is free, but every quote is $100 to $150 lower than it should be to pay for it.
Fine in Mill Woods. Not fine when you're in Gibbons and learn about the distance charge on pickup day.
Extra fees for parkades, snow, no keys or flat tires.
